Visitation Rites
Chillin' under some cool signage (Tiger Mama, Boston, MA) — 02/19/2016
Between turning 25, working two jobs, part-time grad student-ing, and master thesis-ing February was such a whirlwind of emotions. Not to mention, I've had a slew of visitors from back home come through.
P flew up from Nashville the weekend of the 11 through the 15 — the fact that it coincided with Valentine's Day is merely a coincidence. After seven years, we are not that romantic or sentimental (I also don't think we ever were to begin with)...unless you count doing a 1,000 piece puzzle of a trippy nature scene featuring a pack of wolves romantic...which I guess kind of is in it's own weird way? Yuck. Right after that, two friends from undergrad, Cel and 'Cesca, flew all the way from the Golden State for a weekend full of food (shoutout to Toro and Tiger Mama), Miyazaki films (shoutout to the amazing Kiki), and sightseeing (shoutout to the Bern and Paul Revere).
Totally shreddin' it (Granite Gorge, NH) — 02/14/2016
It's always a pleasure to see people from back home — especially during the winter, when my seasonal depression sets in and is at its heaviest. With that being said, visits from home always rejuvenate me and get me ready for what's coming next. Whether it be the next Yelp event and newsletter, Asia-related lecture and panel, marketing midterm and assignment, or just the plain ol' progression of my thesis (page 43 as of today!), having a little taste of home reminds me of what's and who's waiting for me once my program concludes in the spring.
Distance really does make the heart grow fonder, huh?

**P.S. thanks 'Cesca for taking some super cool pics!! I stole them from her blog, which you all should definitely read and subscribe to!
